9 Jan '12 w/ Howard Francis. Voice of Americans with Lewis Schaffer of Nunhead.  Amazing show! Our first show back after the holiday. Guests include Howard Francis from the Nunhead Voice, our local community newsletter, speaks out against building on the site of the Early Years Centre, next to the Old Nun's Head pub. Jim Enck, our local American, from Memphis, Tennessee though born in Connecticutt, pronounced Con-net-ee-cut. I laugh at my own jokes, and sound exactly like my father did, which sounds insincere and coming from nervousness. I hope it isn't. With the lovely Lisa Moyle and Leanne Bower. Our best show ever, still!

28 Nov '11 w/Cllr Vicky Mills & Coach Steve Scanlon. Voice of Americans with Lewis Schaffer of Nunhead.  Our best show ever! If you have ever wondered: "What makes Nunhead so good?" This is the show for you! An interesting combination of Nunhead Labour Councillor Vicki Mills, lamenting the loss of community under Margaret Thatcher (or maybe that is just what I heard), Nunhead Football Coach Steve Scanlon, who coaches the up and coming Carnegie Schaffer, giving us the latest on the Athenlay Football Club and also new Nunhead American Jeff Kuntz, telling us how to pronounce his name. All in good fun. How can Nunhead be THAT fascinating? Well it is!!! Listen and enjoy. But wait...

Robin Schacht, Nunhead American (well, she used to live in Nunhead and she is such a good sport) sat in Co-Host's Lisa Moyle's seat, as Lisa was out sick suffering an English Disease. We missed her. Leanne Bower is ably working the board. Chris Dixon on emotional support. Enjoy. 

7 Nov '11 w/ Cllr Renata Hamvas and comic Sion James. The Voice of Americans returns to politics with Southwark Councillor Renata Hamvas, who impressed Lisa Moyle, the co-host and Lewis Schaffer, the host, with her knowledge of the minutia of Nunhead life - though nothing is minute in Nunhead to us. Also on board is comedian and Nunhead comedy show promoter (at the Ivy House) Sion James, who is very very VERY dry in comedic approach. I guess when you come from Wet Wales you need something to be dry!  With Leanne Bower on the desk.

This was the best program we have done so far. Enjoy!

3 Oct '11 Ivy House, Norman Welch.  Another fantastic Voice of Americans with Lewis Schaffer of Nunhead. Lewis Schaffer would say this wasn't one of his best but what does he know? Leanne Bower was under the weather and Chris Dixon manned the tech desk. We met for the first time Nunhead Heights main Pub Landlord Nick McNeil and what good guest he was - telling how his hippy parents threw stones at American soldiers at Greenham (?) in the last century. Also on board is our mate Norman Welch, a true American from Oklahoma or Missouri or somewhere. I'll find out more later.  You can listen and tell me.  With lovely Lisa Moyle, my American friend.

24 Oct '11 Hank Dogg, Steve Bennett. This was our best show, EVER. Join Lewis Schaffer and Lisa Moyle Voice of Americans with Lewis Schaffer of Nunhead. Two amazing guests! Hank Dogg, the Nunhead rock n roll musician, playing a song or two including "Margaret Finch" - a fabulous guest who highlights how much musical talent and personality reside in Nunhead. Second, but by no means second, is Steve Bennett, the dude behind chortle.co.uk, the most visited comedy website in the UK. I love him cause he is sooo American: Have an idea and do it through sheer hard work and determination. I am envious as I am a lazy sod. "Sod"? Yes, sod, I said it. I am Englishy. I assume Leanne Bower is womanning the soundboard. I haven't listened since and I forget. If not, Chris Dixon. Either way, brilliant micro- broadcasting.

17 Oct '11 Terry Jones, Matt Roper. The Voice of Americans is back. Well. we've been on the radio for months but we had a spot of bother uploading the pods to posterous. I don't know who's to blame so I will blame myself.

This show we have lovely moi and co-host Lisa Moyle with the man who runs Nunhead's Peckham Rye Park Adventure Playground, Mr. Terry Jones. A Welsh name for a Lewisham boy but a local favourite. In addition is the very funny English comic Matt Roper who came in his true self, but can often be seen as "Wilfredo" the spitting foreign singer - truly hysterical! Leanne womanned the sound board. Enjoy! And  I will post more soon. This was our best show ever.

9 May 2011 Christian Reilly, Randy Klein.  Voice of Americans! We resume after a three week break for Bank Holidays - who knew when we accepted this time slot we would be able to have the Mondays off so often? Not that we had much choice of time slots! This Voice of Americans show is gorgeous! It comes right after Osama bin Laden and Kate Middleton Wales were all over the press and Lisa and I were well rested.  Our special guest, Musician and comic Christian Reilly, ticked a few boxes - worked with Rich Hall, the funny American comedian and the most famous American comedian working in the country today, as Ruby Wax has waned a bit. He is a musician and sang a leftwing type song, which is sure to make many of our listeners feel smug, and he is a comic who has seen me perform my one man show at the Source Below [11 Lower John Street, Soho W1F 9TY, every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 8 PM (God willing) - reservation information at www.lewisschaffer.co.uk or www.sourcebelow.com]. He loved it!! 

Also on board was loyal friend and fellow Nunhead American Randy Klein. He is like my older, more successful older brother. We neglected to ask him what I need to help my comedy career

 -this was Chris Dixon's idea, and a good one. We shall do it next time.  But we did discuss the royal family, and only in Britain could we say not so nice things a country's monarchy and get away with it (we hope!). God Bless Britain for being so accepting. Chris wasn't here, except for a brief visit toward the end. Leanne Bower ably womanned the deck at our Borough High Street studios. A lovely, lovely show and one we are proud of!  ENJOY!!!!

I don't want to judge this show, but Lisa Moyle, my lovely Co-Host, came into the show a bit tipsy, and it threw me. Coming from a family where both my grandfathers were drinkers (I know, you're saying "But Jews dont drink?!" Both my grandfathers drank which is maybe, just maybe, why I am the way I am?).

Anyway, I am hypersensitive to decisions made under the influence. Irony is that I am involved in a business which relies on the customer (the audience) buying and consuming alcohol! And also moved to a country which loves their alcohol!

The Show was still lovely, as we had the first appearance of Nunhead Comedian Liam Mullone, who used to work at the Times, and lives right near Randy Klein in Nunhead Heights. He may have an immigrant name but he is very, very English and very, very funny. Making a return appearance was Near-Nunhead American and Musician David Randall-Goddard, who is sooo American, compared with Lisa and my New York-types, and also was good for some funny banter. He played us his new single from his band Widescreen and it was very, very spicy! Recommended. 

Chris Dixon got us started with the introductions, then Leanne Bower took over the tech side.
