Nunhead American Radio with Lewis Schaffer 13 February 2012 with Malcolm Collins of Friends of Nunhead Cemetery and ex-Nunhead American Robin Schacht!!

13 Feb '12 Cemetery, Robin Schacht.  The Voice of Americans with Lewis Schaffer and Lisa Moyle. Our best show ever! Every day our show becomes more and more about our beloved Nunhead. This week we learned that Charles Dickens might have actually died in Nunhead. (Yes, Wikipedia that!) "Satheast" Londoner Malcolm Collins gives us the inside dope on the treasure of Nunhead, Nunhead Cemetery, as a representative of Friends of Nunhead Cemetery (FONC). "Why does a cemetery need friends?" is one question we asked.

It has only taken us two and half years to have someone from his organization in the studio.  His daughter, Anita, couldn't make it and I was pleasantly surprised when Malcolm was able to hold the show on his own.

As always, Robin Schacht from Washington DC and Nunhead added good, wholesome American spirit to the proceedings.  Not that co-host Lisa Moyle isn't wholesome, she is, but in a very New York way. It struck me who Robin reminds me of: a very young, and perhaps even prettier Meryl Streep! Lovely Leanne Bower has flown the coop - sadly. A shout out to her Mom and her Dad up there in Barnsley or Burnley or Blackburn or Blackpool. It begins with a "B", that is all I know.  Lovely Charlotte ran the soundboard for the first time, under able direction of Chris Dixon, who also added a very funny joke to the show.  And Lisa Moyle was particularly pleasant! Enjoy.

Nunhead American Radio with Lewis Schaffer, 9th January 2012, with Nunhead Voice's Howard Francis and Nunhead Borders American Jim "James" Enck!

9 Jan '12 w/ Howard Francis. Voice of Americans with Lewis Schaffer of Nunhead.  Amazing show! Our first show back after the holiday. Guests include Howard Francis from the Nunhead Voice, our local community newsletter, speaks out against building on the site of the Early Years Centre, next to the Old Nun's Head pub. Jim Enck, our local American, from Memphis, Tennessee though born in Connecticutt, pronounced Con-net-ee-cut. I laugh at my own jokes, and sound exactly like my father did, which sounds insincere and coming from nervousness. I hope it isn't. With the lovely Lisa Moyle and Leanne Bower. Our best show ever, still!

Nunhead American Radio with Lewis Schaffer. 28th November 2011 with Nunhead Councillor Victoria Mills, Nunhead American Jeff Kuntz, and Nunhead Football Coach Steve Scanlon.

28 Nov '11 w/Cllr Vicky Mills & Coach Steve Scanlon. Voice of Americans with Lewis Schaffer of Nunhead.  Our best show ever! If you have ever wondered: "What makes Nunhead so good?" This is the show for you! An interesting combination of Nunhead Labour Councillor Vicki Mills, lamenting the loss of community under Margaret Thatcher (or maybe that is just what I heard), Nunhead Football Coach Steve Scanlon, who coaches the up and coming Carnegie Schaffer, giving us the latest on the Athenlay Football Club and also new Nunhead American Jeff Kuntz, telling us how to pronounce his name. All in good fun. How can Nunhead be THAT fascinating? Well it is!!! Listen and enjoy. But wait...

Robin Schacht, Nunhead American (well, she used to live in Nunhead and she is such a good sport) sat in Co-Host's Lisa Moyle's seat, as Lisa was out sick suffering an English Disease. We missed her. Leanne Bower is ably working the board. Chris Dixon on emotional support. Enjoy.

Nunhead American Radio with Lewis Schaffer 24th October 2011 with Nunhead Musician Hank Dogg and Comedy Guru Steve Bennett

24 Oct '11 Hank Dogg, Steve Bennett. This was our best show, EVER. Join Lewis Schaffer and Lisa Moyle Voice of Americans with Lewis Schaffer of Nunhead. Two amazing guests! Hank Dogg, the Nunhead rock n roll musician, playing a song or two including "Margaret Finch" - a fabulous guest who highlights how much musical talent and personality reside in Nunhead. Second, but by no means second, is Steve Bennett, the dude behind, the most visited comedy website in the UK. I love him cause he is sooo American: Have an idea and do it through sheer hard work and determination. I am envious as I am a lazy sod. "Sod"? Yes, sod, I said it. I am Englishy. I assume Leanne Bower is womanning the soundboard. I haven't listened since and I forget. If not, Chris Dixon. Either way, brilliant micro- broadcasting.

Voice of Americans with Lewis Schaffer of Nunhead 4th April 2011 with Nunhead American Robin Schacht and English Lady, Actor and Comic Jo Romero!

Another thoroughly enjoyable show with four beautiful women in our studios in Nunhead Heights (actually Borough, London - it's all SE!). Nunhead American Robin Schacht is originally from Washington, DC, as in Direct Current, which is ironic, because Washington is the home of Politics and nothing is ever 'direct' in Politics. She chatted with us about her recent trip representing Nunhead the African country of Uganda. How exotic it all sounded but I wasn't moved to want to leave my Nunhead. She was joined by the very exciting Jo Romero, who is a friend for life because of her open and out-going personality, so very American. She relayed details of her trip to New York City, a city, which she said she didn't like at ALL, which surprised Co-Host Lisa Moyle and me. The truth be told, she rented a room in Washington Heights, not at all similar to Washington, DC. It would be like making a visit to South London and not staying in Nunhead!  Lisa gave a report on Tara Smith having her baby and moving back to the Upper East Side, which is one place that Jo might have stayed, and then we had a lively chat about how the British do not like to be touched. All very funny!  Chris Dixon was suffering from vocal illness so Leanne Bower sound-boarded us again, and added quite nicely to the program. A lovely show! ENJOY!

Voice of Americans with Lewis Schaffer of Nunhead 28th March 2011 with comic David Hardcastle, Industry Exec Wayne Saunders and Nunhead Borders Musician Jeff Miller!

Another thoroughly enjoyable show but this time with three big guests!  Join Lewis Schaffer and co-host Lisa Moyle in welcoming, in no particular order, Nunhead Borders and American musician Jeff Miller for a solo appearance without his Hackney Collier Band. He MP3'd their single "Africa" and it sounded AMAZING.  Second up is David Hardcastle, the Bradford England comic and comedy club promoter. He was here promoting his new comedy venture, The Leicester Square Working Men's Club, and his old venture, the comedy night "Get Happy at the Leicester Square Theatre. Finally, we chat with Mr. Wayne Saunders, another person who took on the role of promoting Lewis Schaffer's career, only to realize it was a lost cause. He wouldn't say this directly, he being charming and very English, coming from The Wirral, which sounds similar to "The Bronx" in its charm. Three lovely people, plus the beautiful and talented tech person Leanne Bower  (our Chris Dixon being away on assignment) and gorgeous co-host Lisa Moyle who gave a much-valued report on Nunhead American Randy Klein's and Michael Holland, guest of the show's film. Enjoy!

Voice of Americans with Lewis Schaffer of Nunhead 14 March 2011 with Bermondsey filmmaker Michael Holland and Nunhead American Randy Klein!

The Voice of Americans with Lewis Schaffer of Nunhead, the only radio program for Americans living in Nunhead, the Capital of Southwark Water Supplies and Human Burial Services, welcomes back two of our favorites:  Michael Holland, the dude who wrote the Southwark News article about our show calling what I say "often cow crap" is back to talk about his new film on successful Nunhead American artist and friend Randy Klein. Randy speaks of working with Michael and Randy offers his services as a life coach to Lewis Schaffer and the show. We try to save the Honor Oak Recreation Ground and talk about how Reg Varney filmed "On the Buses" in Nunhead. Or part of it. And what is the correct pronunciation of Nunhead? Nun-ed or Nun Head? Co-host Lisa Moyle is brilliant, as always, and I mean that without irony. She is a natural and if she gets any better, I am going to have to pull a Tony Hancock on her Syd James [God, I have lived in Nunhead too long - our foreign listeners won't know what I am talking about.] Leanne Bower (with no "S" as she is unique) is ably handling the tech side while amazing Chris Dixon away on 'assignment', not forgotten and definitely missed. Enjoy. See Lewis Schaffer Live and Free every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in Soho, London. Info and Reservations at
